The Pipers Ceilidh
Sunday 10 October 2010
Celtics Colours

Gaelic College, St. Ann's - 2:00 PM Matinee
Ticket Price: $25/20
This show has reserved seating

A perennial favorite at Celtic Colours, the Pipers Ceilidh never fails to thrill pipes enthusiasts of all description. And this year's Pipers Ceilidh promises to be as thrilling as ever with Seudan, a collection of pipers who in their own right are well-known, talented and experienced, and, as a group, are a power house of musicians. Seudan features Allan MacDonald, whom many Celtic Colours audiences will remember from Festivals past; Fin Moore, whose connections to Cape Breton extend back for years; Angus Nicolson from Isle of Skye; BBC Young Traditional Musician of the Year finalist Calum MacCrimmon; and Mabou native Angus MacKenzie, who is home from living in Scotland. As well as a homecoming, this afternoon will be a family affair as Angus' brothers, Kenneth and Calum will perform on pipes, piano and fiddle. Another cousin is Rankin MacInnis, also from Mabou. He is currently the piper with the stage production ;DRUM! which has taken him to all corners of the continent. Piano player Mac Morin is another world traveler and he is quite used to playing with pipers, as he has spent the last decade playing and traveling with the group Beòlach.

After the show, head over to MacKenzie Hall, which is still on the Gaelic College property for a traditional Thanksgiving Dinner.
