When it came to picking a venue for our wedding, The Gaelic College was an easy choice. The grounds at the college are absolutely beautiful with plenty of lush greenery and some of the best scenic views in Cape Breton. On top of its beauty, the staff at the Gaelic College went above and beyond to make sure that our wedding was customized to our desire. The courtesy and help that we received from the staff, especially Gail Montgomery, was top notch and extremely professional. The diverse layout of the College allowed us to have our ceremony, supper, and reception all on site which made everything that much easier plan. Many of our guests were even able to book one of the many newly-renovated, beautiful rooms for the night. Everything was perfect on our special day, right from the location of the ceremony to the last bite of dessert. The Gaelic College is simply an amazing, highly experienced, venue capable of making everything just right on such a special day.Craig & Melissa FerrarMarried in 2013
When planning for our big day, we knew in our hearts the Gaelic College was the right place to say our "I do's." We wanted somewhere to celebrate with our friends and family that was unique, relaxed and full of true Cape Breton hospitality and culture. On June 29, 2013, after many months of planning and anxiously waiting, our dream wedding came true. There is little we can say that would truly express how beautiful the Gaelic College at St Ann's made our wedding day. Gail, the Hospitality manager and all the staff went above and beyond to ensure everything went as smooth and as stress free as possible. Due to rain on the last minute, we had to move our ceremony inside to MacKenzie Hall which I would certainly recommend for an intimate indoor space. After we became Mr. and Mrs., we all headed over to the Great Hall of the Clans for a beautiful dinner by Chef Lars and his team, followed by drinks and dancing. This massive museum/hall has so much history, character and charm that it didn't need a lot of decorating. If you want a wedding venue with a rustic, celtic charm combined with the elegance of a contemporary banquet hall, choose the Gaelic College at St Ann's! The grounds are gorgeous, the renovations are beautiful, and the fact that you can have everyone stay in residence together is perfect. It was a true Cape Breton destination wedding and we want to reognize all the staff at the Gaelic College for being a part of the best day of our lives. My fiancee and I were looking for a venue to host our wedding, and when the Gaelic College was suggested, we checked out the website to see if it was a viable option. We were so immediately impressed by pictures of the scenic campus and adorned facilities, we just had to go and see it for ourselves...and we weren't disappointed! We held the wedding in June, and because the student dormitory was vacant, it was perfect for our overnight guests. The Great Hall of the Clans turned out to be a gorgeous, memorable setting for both our ceremony and reception. And the Gaelic tableaus on either side of the Great Hall were just that added bonus that made for excellent pictures as well! The staff were very warm and welcoming, and Gail was highly accommodating, attentive to our every need. All in all, we'd recommend it as a top choice to host a special occasion to anyone wishing to create rich and lasting memories.Jud & Andrea HansellMarried in 2012
