The College has received a $5,000 grant from the Dept of Tourism, Culture and Heritage to hold a culture and language-based weekend camp for children aged 8 to 12 who are engaged in Gaelic cultural studies at the community and/or school levels.

Working in cooperation with local teachers and community resource people College staff will provide classes and workshops in Gaelic language , song, story-telling, music, dance, drawing, and textile arts[weaving, spinning and wool dying].

They will be divided into groups according to their ages and each group will cycle through a series of workshops aimed at deepening and expanding their understanding of Gaelic language and culture.

Dates for the camp have not yet been finalized but will be early in the spring.
